  • 1 cup of chopped pitted dates
  • 1,5 cups of water
  • 1.5 tsp of baking soda
  • 0.5 cup of butter
  • 0.5 cup of oil
  • 0.5 cup of cane sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp of vanilla
  • 2.5 cups of flour
  • 2 tsp of baking powder


  • Preheat your oven to 180C.
  • Grease and flour a 12-cup Bundt cake pan.
  • In a saucepan, mix the dates, water and baking soda.Bring the mixture to a boil. Set aside to cool.
  • In a bowl, beat the eggs and sugar and add the oil and butter.
  • Add the vanilla.
  • Whisk the baking powder in the flour and add the egg mixture.
  • Add cooked dates and mix well.
  • Pour the cake batter into the prepared Bundt pan.
  • Bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.
