  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1.5 cups of sugar
  • instant yeast
  • 5 cups of flour
  • 120g of butter
  • Baking powder
  • nutmeg
  • egg yolk
  • vanilla
  • mahlab


  • In a bowl, mix milk, sugar and yeast and leave for few minutes.
  • In another bowl, add the flour, melted butter, baking powder , mahlab and nutmeg.
  • Mix everything and knead until you form a dough.
  • Leave to rest for 1-2 hours.
  • Divide, roll the dough and shape it into small kaek.
  • Prepare a mix of egg yolk and vanilla and spread it on the kaek pieces.
  • Bake.
